Features
The E50 BT from JBL comes with PureBass woofer technology and extremely flexible ear cups, and can probably be seen as the big brother of the E40 BT, which is almost of the same name. The 360 degree joints make the headphones very flexible and adapt very well to any head shape. Bosonders on this model: A so-called ShareMe function from JBL. This means that someone who has another Bluetooth headset can listen in using just one smartphone. When you train with friends it can be a lot of fun. An integrated microphone with Pure KonnexxTM noise reduction ensures crystal-clear playback and makes phone calls easy. There is also a control element directly on the auricle with several buttons for volume control, song selection and the ShareMe function. Incidentally, if the battery is empty, you can continue to use the JBL Over Ear with a normal 3.5 mm cable.
Handling
The battery life of 18 hours is already quite decent for an over-ear and several sports sessions without charging are possible without any problems. The over-ear is very heavy at just under 300 grams and you can also tell when you do sports, but the 360 degree joints adapt perfectly to the shape of the head and the headphones are comfortable to wear despite their heavy weight. In order to make it a little smaller for transport purposes, the ear cups can also be completely folded in. The noise suppression works perfectly and makes phone calls very understandable and crystal clear. Unfortunately, the headphones cannot be used while charging, but that shouldn't really be a problem.
Comfort
Thanks to the flexible ear cups, the JBL Over Ear fits like a glove and completely encloses the ears. Even longer wearing times are not a problem, only the weight is clearly noticeable, especially when exercising. The ergonomic headband makes it very comfortable to wear and feels comfortable without pressing or causing pain. The shielding of external noises is great for an over-ear, as usual, and you can concentrate fully on the music during your workout or in everyday life. For this price, there is really nothing to complain about when it comes to wearing comfort, that's for sure.
Sound
In terms of sound, the focus is clearly on the bass thanks to the PureBass woofer, but highs and lows are also good and in general the sound is a tad better than the smaller on-ear model E40 BT from JBL. The sound is round and harmonious and definitely appropriate for a relatively cheap over-ear like this one. In terms of sound, however, you shouldn't expect anything high, as more expensive models from Bose or Beats are a lot better.
JBL E50 BT - the conclusion
Solid over ear with good sound. This over-ear model from JBL can definitely keep up with competitors in the same price range and offers a good balance between expensive high-class and cheap models. The JBL E50 BT has proven itself in everyday life and in sports and scores with a great price-performance ratio. Suitable for everyone who is looking for a good over-ear at a reasonable and not too high price and would like to use it for sports.
